Say NO to OsCommerce, Go with LiveCart
OsCommerce is an overbloated out of date ecommerce shopping cart problem. It has a lack of organization, terrible html markup (which hurts SEO), and the sloppiest template system on earth. There really is no reason to use OsCommerce. It's 2009, you should be using shopping cart software that has some decent web standards.
I just purchased a copy of LiveCart, which is an AJAX and PHP/MySQL based shopping cart using the InnoDB Storage Engine. It's fast, reliable, clean coded, and extremely easy to use. In fact, LiveCart is so easy to use that you don't need to know anything about programming or coding. It has a built in WYSIWYG editor that's even easier to use than dreamweaver. LiveCart templating is used with the Smarty PHP templating engine and if you've used Smarty before you'll know the common sense approach it has.
Tech Support is quick and the requirements are standard with most webhosts: Apache, PHP5, MySQL 4.1+ with InnoDB. (Such as BlueHost, GoDaddy, Apollohost).
I compared other shopping carts like X-Cart, Sunshop, Zen Cart, and OsCMax and they don't come close to the ease of use you will find in LiveCart. Althought LiveCart isn't free, it's worth every penny and will save you hundreds of hours, and even hundreds of hours for your clients!
